Hi,
Seems like a stupid question, it should be easy, but I have a few images that I want to open in a lightbox. Simple as that. I want to show a 300x199 thumbnail of the image on the page with the same styling as on the live example page on theme forest (with the rounded corners, white bars over/under and drop shadow) and when I click it it's gonna open in a lightbox. How do I do it?

I tried this code, inserting a link from the shortcode generator.

The page just displays all the text as regular text.

Hi markusp80,
I'm not admin here, but it works for me as per below inserting it in HTML mode (of course you can adjust link paths, alt, width and height)
example:
[frame link="/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/responsive_v111.jpg" linking="lightbox"]<img src="/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/responsive_v111.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="199" />[/frame]

Thanks for your input, I will try it out.
I figured out another way myself. I simply created a "work" for every image. Then on the page where I want the three lightbox-clickable images to appear I copied this code from an existing page in the original theme:
[custom_works entry_ids="1006,1008,1010" template="one_third" hide="summary, categories, tags, button_1"]
The entry_ids are the id's of the works, which contains the images I want to display in a lightbox.
The important thing here, I discovered, is when you insert the image from the library into the work. You must click the "Use as featured image" link to make the thumbnail (with the white bars on top/bottom, rounded corners and drop shadow) visible on the page. You must also choose Alternative linking: "Open the image or the alternative link in a lightbox".

yes, this may work, but I think it's too complicated :)
Please describe what exactly do you want to achieve?
Works Index Page? Or just some images with lightbox option?

I've been following this posing as I am having the same problem. I haven't been able to just place an image on a page with say, a paper-stack frame and have it click and open in a light box. I've done all the import stuff and clicked on the option to open in light box. I've set all the parameters in the pages and theme options I can find, but no luck. The image always opens in the same or another window.
I've tried the advice above and no luck. ( I haven't tried the unique solution of making every image a "work". But after setting up some work pages I think it would work.)
However, that is too tedious and impossible if you wan to post a gallery with more then a few separate thumbnails to open in light box. I have imported the light box plug in ( wp-jquery-lightbox) and it works beautifully, but too well. After installation of the plug in every image on every page opened in light box. Definitely not what I want.
So, like markusp80, I want to place a thumbnail image with a basic frame and have it open in light box. Hope this input helps. And maybe the plug in option would be good for markusp80's needs.

the only thing I must know: do you want to achieve this effect on a regular effect (like contact, services) or on a special page (like work index page)

I cant speak for others but I would like to have the option of placing a lightbox image on any type of page.
This reminds me of a feature that I would really like to see. Perhaps you could come up with a gallery feature that allows multiple file uploads and sets up an image gallery with small thumbs in a flexible page. While I'm wishing make that a sortable gallery ;-)

you can place lightbox on nearly every page, but I need to know what exactly do you want to achieve :)
Some clients try to build works index page with shortcodes, but there's more proper way - that's why I'm asking

I would like to have the option of
1. (first importance) placing an image on a regular page or work page as a single image either from the media/upload insert button that opens in light box on click.
2. (Second importance) place a number of images on a page that would act like a "gallery" each image would float left to make a grid say 4 images across. Of course this would all be flexible on page resize. This could be achieved one at a time using the method in number 1 above or through some fancy upload where when you upload a number of images at once they automatically all get inserted into page with light show links.

OK I found the solution! =:-0
I was just going over the buttons page on your demo site when I saw the button linking in lightbox.

Using the code I placed it in on an image like this.
[frame type="paper-stack" link="http://bluemoonstudio.org/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/lg-img-ad1.jpg" linking="lightbox"]IMAGE HERE[/frame]
I got the link by clicking on the image and selecting the image edit button. Under the Advanced tab in the source field is the image link that is copied and pasted into the url for the page code.
And it worked the image opened in light box. I was confused because on your demo page for images-frames, the open in a lightbox example did not work (still does not) and that sort of threw me off.
But anyway that is the solution. If you have other solutions please let me know.
